We have a long-standing commitment to our neighbors.
Our associates help every day by setting aside surplus food in stores for donation to local food banks and agencies through our Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Food Rescue program. Collaborations with organizations like Feeding America, No Kid Hungry, American Red Cross and many others help ensure that everyone has access to nutritious, healthy food.
Supporting Healthier Communities
Kroger is committed to being a good steward of natural resources and reducing the environmental impacts of our own business operations and global supply chain.
We work with subject matter experts to reduce food and operational waste to create a long-lasting global food system and supply chain.

Driving Innovation
The Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation’s signature program is the $10 million Innovation Fund, which supports entrepreneurs and creative thinkers focused on reducing food waste, improving access to healthy food and optimizing supply chain logistics.
We are thrilled to support innovators with new ideas and solutions to some of the world’s most challenging but solvable problems. Some of our grantees even recently introduced upcycled consumer products on our store shelves.
