Addie Tinkler is your typical 11-year-old little girl. She loves diving, school and playing with her friends.

Everyone has someone in their life who inspires them in a big way, whether they realize it or not. For Marc Watkins M.D., chief medical officer for Kroger Health, that person is clear and it’s childhood pediatrician Dr. Seymour Charles.

When she’s not hard at work serving deli customers at Kroger’s store 322 in Vinton, Virginia, Jeanie Tolbert volunteers at Samaritan Inn, a homeless food shelter that provides continental breakfast and a full meal lunch to the homeless around the area.

In 1968, Ben Carter became the first African-American store manager in Kroger’s Louisville Division.

When you enter Pharmacy school, typically your path is clear. You graduate, then you work for a Pharmacy or another entity. Or, you join Kroger and then you find yourself doing all sorts of fun things – some are in the Pharmacy and some aren’t.  Regardless, you’re here, 28 years later doing what you love.

Let me start by saying: I love cheese. I love it so much that my personal goal is to inspire customers to try as many of the 175 cheese varieties that Murray’s Cheese has to offer as possible.

We have more than 450,000 associates across the Kroger Family of Companies. We know what they do. But who are they as people? What makes them tick? What makes them smile? And how does it help them seize some of the endless opportunities at Kroger?

I was 18 when I first started working for Kroger. Working side by side, my dad and I were maintenance contractors at the Ralphs Distribution Center in Compton, Calif. Within four years I was a full-time associate and ultimately introduced to the company’s first anaerobic digester. I had no clue this would be the start of seven years (so far) with Kroger.
